Today, It’s Somewhere are having quite the celebration as we’ve reunited our first lost photos!
A GoPro Hero was found in February by an It’s Somewhere follower who found the device bobbing around at Millaa Millaa Falls in Australia. She was kind enough to report the find to us and get the ball rolling.
We published photos from the lost GoPro on all of our social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. Then, it was spread around the globe by all of you wonderful people that liked and shared the post who made sure it was seen by over 17,000 people.
That’s when another It’s Somewhere hero came along; Rebecca from Southend on Sea, UK, who shared the report with one of her groups on Facebook.
Shortly afterwards, the owner of the GoPro got in touch with us when she spotted her holiday snaps online. Before we knew it, details were swapped and photos were returned, all within just one week of the lost GoPro being reported with us.
That’s what we call a success!
We’ve been absolutely delighted with the reaction from all of our users who read, shared and commented on each and every one of our reports. We’re a very small company, with everyone involved also balancing a day job, so our success of returning memories largely relies on the It’s Somewhere community.
Fortunately for us, we have a wonderful group of good Samaritans helping us unite memories with their makers. The people who helped this time around are just a few of the amazing people we’d like to thank for making returning memories possible. We’d also like to thank all the optimists, believers and do-gooders who like, share and read our stories!
Don’t stop now, though… We’ve still got plenty more lost and found reports on our site and we need all the help we can get to return them all!
